EMILY MORGAN

Emily Morgan, a timeless Bowman 57 sailing yacht, draws its name from the illustrious Yellow Rose of Texas. Crafted by the esteemed designers Holman and Pye, renowned for their work on numerous Oysters, this vessel was skillfully constructed by Southampton Boat Services in Hampshire, UK.

The yacht boasts a capacious cockpit, providing the perfect setting to relish a chilled sundowner while basking in the glory of a breathtaking sunset. An opening table in this area sets the scene for enchanting lunches and dinners beneath the twinkling stars. Shielding guests from the intense midday sun is a spacious bimini. And for sun-seekers, the deck is adorned with comfortable cushions, inviting them to luxuriate in the sun’s embrace upon reaching the anchorage, with a friendly reminder to apply plenty of factor 30 sunscreen!

Managing the sails is a breeze with furling head sails, a main sail equipped with lazy jacks, and a mizzen sail aft. When speed becomes paramount, a spinnaker and mizzen staysail stand ready. Emily Morgan’s rig is designed for easy handling, ensuring smooth navigation for all.

Whether guests prefer the ample cockpit or the bright and airy saloon, they can comfortably gather for dinner. The saloon offers generous seating around a table, complete with inviting armchairs for relaxation. As for entertainment, Emily Morgan spoils her guests with a quality sound system complemented by an extensive music library, an assortment of games, and a thoughtfully curated selection of reading material.

The Crew

On board the vessel Emily Morgan, you will find the hosts, Anna and Bones Black, a British husband and wife team. Their sailing experience is nothing short of impressive, having collectively sailed over 80,000 miles on numerous voyages. This includes 10 Atlantic crossings and a full circumnavigation. With a deep affection for the Caribbean, they take pleasure in revealing some hidden gems to their guests.

Both Anna and Bones developed their sailing skills from a very young age. Anna’s introduction to sailing began when she was just 18 months old, while Bones honed his abilities in the challenging waters of the notorious Bristol Channel. As experienced sailing instructors, they are equally content exploring remote islands or engaging in competitive racing, always eager to share their extensive knowledge with an enthusiastic audience.

Bones has a genuine passion for teaching people of all ages about sailing. He managed a training centre for an extended period, instructing on sail and power, and is particularly gifted at entertaining and engaging children. Holding an RYA/MCA commercially endorsed Offshore Yachtmaster certification and utilising his background in aviation, Bones also successfully operates his boat repair business, ensuring that Emily Morgan is consistently well-maintained.

Anna’s lifelong connection with both yachts and dinghies began on the Hamble River, where she grew up. By the age of 18, she had acquired an RYA dinghy instructors’ qualification. As an RYA/MCA commercially endorsed Ocean Yachtmaster, she completed her first Atlantic crossing in 2004. Beyond sailing, Anna has inherited her mother’s love for cooking and boasts a diverse culinary repertoire that spans the globe, with an emphasis on using fresh, locally-sourced ingredients.
