Sail Grenadines recommends completing the theory courses before visiting us in the Grenadines.

This teaches you the skills of Pilotage, Navigation, Seamanship and boat handling needed to safely skipper a yacht in a familiar area by day. A very thorough course of skill building which is ideal for anyone who has done a little sailing before, ideally in the form of the Competent Crew Course (and has good theory knowledge). If you have sailed with friends or been on flotillas, we suggest brushing up on the basics before you arrive like knots, parts of the boat and all the competent crew aspects – there is a lot to learn when doing the Day Skipper Practical.
