What’s happening in the Grenadines?

So far Saint Vincent and the Grenadines have been handling the situation about Covid-19 well in our opinion. Businesses have been allowed to continue operating and borders havent closed down completely. The locals are all still in fairly good spirits despite no tourism and the number of cases of Covid-19 is decreasing. Watching the news elsewhere it seems like life has changed. Here on our islands, everything has just slowed down and relaxed even more!

Sail Grenadines has been making some updates – our charter terms are ammended for 2020 – 2021 and we have also decided that for any holiday booked in the next months (before the end of August), deposits will be fully refundable.

We have also started to add our new boats for 2020-2021 to our website and will be uploading new pictures and further information soon! Stay tuned.

And what are we up to? Our Charter operations have stopped for a few months which means we have taken the time to move our office to remote allowing us to go sailing and explore our beautiful islands whilst no-one is here! Our office staff are working remotely from home and our engineers are keeping busy fixing private boats and houses in Bequia.

The Tobago Cays today sits with three boats. There are fish and turtles everywhere and lots of iguanas! Hetlan and some of the local boat boys from Union passed by to go fishing and came back carrying lobsters ((*early in lockdown before lobster season closed), tuna and conch. Chatham Bay has around 5 – 10 boats and James and Mr Pleasure are still operating out of their local beach bar hangouts serving fish and chicken BBQs, sunset rum and of course their great rum punch! There are lots of fish, rays and turtles at the moment and herons diving for their catch in front of the beach.
